NYFW Runway Recap Pt 2...

so here it is- my Runway Recap Part 2, the second half of NYFW. the best of the best... enjoy xo

BAND OF OUTSIDERS- if the Amish did Fashion Week.

ANNA SUI- i'm always a huge fan of her collections. she's amazing at mixing textures and graphic prints. the accessories are amazing and i'm totally still into the socks/sandals look for this Fall.

10 CROSBY BY DEREK LAM- gonna be a huge hit in the big shops like Saks, Barneys etc. Derek Lam at a lower price point. definitely something to look forward to.

CALVIN KLEIN- classic and chic, loving the nude tones.

CHRIS BENZ- super cool. it's like retro got an upgrade. resurrection vintage. super rad accessories.

CHRISTIAN COTA- the tailoring is absolute perfection. a beautiful collection from start to finish, the total embodiment of Spring.

CREATURES OF THE WIND- doesn't this collection seem very Balenciaga-esque? love the mix of coloring, the crop top, the lace overlay skirt, the draping- all of it. if you were rolling up to Lincoln Center @ FW, this is what I would expect to see editors and the like wearing. a girl can dream.

DIESEL BLACK GOLD- how gorgeous is the pink suede jacket? the metallic pants and jackets are really hot, i would totally rock this trend. side note: coated jeans are really big for THIS FALL. perhaps this is a continuation for Spring 2012??

DKNY- super easy to wear and appeals to the masses for sure. loving the red/blue combination, very Proenza.

DOO. RI- super chic. my favorite piece is the 2nd dress. it's very sexy but the fact that it's jersey makes it more casual. thigh high slits are a "do" in my book.

ELIE TAHARI- not usually a store i walk into and shop in often, my Mom tends to favor her line more than i do, but i have to tell you, this collection is one of my favorites from all of FW. the metallics, the sexy menswear, the silk draping, the color scheme... check, check, check. i will be visiting Elie Tahari for my Spring shopping.

FELDER FELDER- i wasn't familiar with this line before FW, but it's certainly on my radar now. WOW. amazing. WOW. super awesome killer harness jewelry.

GIULIETTA- gladiator goddess. obsessed with the hair. love the black gown especially. harness jewelry was big on the runways, you'll see this again.

GRAEME ARMOUR- amazing. i would wear all of these in a heartbeat. fuchsia & black leather go together like pb & j.

HERVE LEGER- gladiator meets dominatrix meets Helen of Troy? i have no idea, but Herve never ceases to amaze me. definitely a favorite collection for Spring 2012. my favorite shoes i've seen on the runway this season yet.

JEN KAO- these 2 pieces stood out of me. loving the geometric prints.

JUAN CARLOS OBANDO- so sexy, flattering and easy to wear. there's that fuchsia again...

KEVORK KILEDJIAN- my new favorite color combination: army green and (more) fuchsia. i love when everything you see on a runway can be worn in real life. i would buy this entire collection if i could. definitely in my top favorite collections from NYFW. the sequin leggings???? wow.

MARCHESA- ethereal, out of this world beauty. i can't even choose a favorite. i will most likely wear Marchesa on my wedding day. (god willing i find a potential husband, fingers crossed).

MARA HOFFMAN- her collection for Spring, entitled "Mara Mexicana" is definitely that. i'm a huge fan of hers, mainly because i can afford to buy her pieces, and of course because she's the queen of prints... and i'm a printy kind of gal.

MILLY- love Milly. another label that i can actually afford to shop, and is always easy to wear. love the retro feel which is usually her vibe. very similar feel to DVF for me this season. more orange. it's crazy, it's like these designers get together at a round table and are like, soooooo orange for Spring, and everyone nods yes.

MICHAEL KORS- i was floored by this collection. wow o wow o wow. unbelievable accessories, shoes, hair, the tie dye.... i love everything about this. it's strange- i always match up Michael Kors and Donna Karen in my head as being very much on similar levels and their Spring collections for 2012 were very parallel. they were the only 2 designers to go the tribal route, but man do i love the results. um hello snakeskin trench coat, lets be friends.

NICOLE MILLER- totally upped her game in the last few years. love the departure from her typical ruched cocktail dress B.S. and into this rad neon matrix of sorts. if i didn't know this was Nicole Miller i probably would have guessed it to be Mara Hoffman. kudos- i would wear all of these looks, especially the first one.

NANETTE LEPORE- top 5 favorite collections for Spring 2012. i've been wearing Nanette for years, it's a favorite label of mine. i love to mix her girly pieces with some of my more edgy favorites like Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang. she hit all the right notes, the neon, the cutouts, accordion pleats are quite the rage right now, orange, fuchsia, the retro vibe- if you want to describe all the Spring 2012 trends to someone, tell your friends to look at this collection. done.

OSCAR DE LA RENTA- what's there not to like? classic tweed suiting, more neon, ball skirts, lace, feathers- this collection is every woman's dream. the feathered crop top and silk harem pants... OMFG, i really need to find a way to recreate this look for Spring.

3.1 PHILLIP LIM- always a favorite of mine, i think i'm going to have to invest in some pastels for Spring. i can't say i will swing for the head to toe pastel look (very present here at 3.1 and at DVF), but i'm totally for the lilac and baby pink, mixed with black leather of course.

PORTS 1961- classic pieces that will stand the test of time. Ports does tailoring right, always great investment pieces. love the neon element with the jacket ties.

PROENZA SCHOULER- i'm a HUGE fan of this brand- they always stay true to themselves. you can watch their show, see their clothing on a celebrity or in a store and know it's Proenza without even looking at the label. they lay the ground work and everyone else follows suit. amazing.

RALPH LAUREN COLLECTION- i only wish i would get invited to this show for FW. i would trade all my other invites just to attend this one show. i watched the show, you can view it HERE. there's not much to say other than this collection is stunning: the menswear is feminine, the 20's styling with the draping necklaces, feather boa collars, silk hats, pinstripes, heavy silk graped gowns. i will have to save up to buy a piece of this collection for Spring.

RODARTE- hello neon. love the ruched pieces and Jane Jetson suiting. most of the collection included tailoring like the 3rd picture. Rodarte is always on the cutting edge for me and i'm big fan of the line.

SASS & BIDE- generally when people ask me what my favorite brands are, Sass & Bide is at the top of my list. this collection is very much what i like to see on my dinner plate- a smorgasbord. a little bit of everything. definitely in my favorite collections list for Spring 2012.

THEYSKEN'S THEORY- more coated and metallic pants like at Diesel Black Gold. love the iridescent cropped pair in the first pic and the green pair in the 3rd pic that remind me of those oily stickers us girls used to collect at camp when we were younger. the gowns are amazing, hell, this whole collection is amazing. love the harshness of the sheer top with the ladylike tweed blazer. i would wear all of this.

TIBI- super fun and girly, love the stripe pants, very Derek Lam. more pastels. easy breezy.

and there you have it. NYFW madness has finally ended.
